Howdy partner! I want to welcome you to my corner of the web where you’ll find helpful tips, advice and recommendations for the Nikon D3100 all written by me, Moose Winans.

This resource is all about highlighting the most useful settings, functions and modes of the Nikon D3100 so you can go out and enjoy the type of photography that interests you most.

Everything on this site is written for beginners, newbies and novice’s. If you don’t fall into one of these categories you’re more than welcome to hangout here…just understand that I’ll be leaving out the lengthy technical explanations.

(June 5, 2013) Woohoo! The wait is finally over…I’m proud to announce my 1st ever Cheat Cards for the Nikon D3100. If you’ve ever been in a situation and wondered which settings to use with your camera, these nifty little cheat sheets will tell you exactly which settings I would start with. My settings are specific to the Nikon D3100 and select Nikon lenses. This allows me to provide very detailed settings which will improve your odds of capturing a keeper. Sound good? Nikon D3100 Cheat Sheets for Beginners

D3100 Forum Growing Leaps and Bounds (April 5, 2012) – If you haven’t already done so, I highly recommend checking out the Nikon D3100 forum for beginners. Over the last few weeks, there have been wonderful discussions around a variety of topics (gear, settings, tricks, issues, etc…) surrounding the D3100. It’s a fantastic learning tool…and hey, you’ll be in good company. :)

D3100 Forum Moved (February 16, 2012) – Due to the massive amount of comments I received on the D3100 discussion page, I created an actual forum that can handle the number of discussions we’ve got going. Updated Design and Layout (February 16, 2012) – Whoa! Check it out. The Nikon D3100 Tips pages here at Camera Tips are now sporting a new look. I’m currently working on getting the new design live throughout the site, but you D3100 owners can go ahead and get settled in.

All you dudes and dudettes who aren’t on Facebook, I highly recommend you take a few minutes and check out my official Nikon D3100 Tips Facebook page. It’s got tons of great tips, tricks and helpful info for the D3100, not found anywhere else on the web. FYI…you don’t need to be a facebook member to view the page.
